    At Sandmeier Charolais, the cow herd consists of between 650 and 700 registered purebred charolais cows. A  60-day breeding program is utilized for a spring and a fall calving program.  Artificial insemination is incorporated into the breeding programs. 

    The cow herd has a strong genetic influence going back to the Avignon blood line.  (Many of the herd bulls carry the Avignon influence in their pedigree.)
